A lot of students feel that online tutoring and face-to-face tutoring are not exactly the same. I agree, they’re not exactly the same. Honestly, I also miss the face-to-face interactions with students back when I drove to different homes. But the reality is that I do not have a physical space for hosting students, and if you’re local enough that I coul you already know that Vancouver traffic is terrible and only getting worse. Because I love tutoring so much and plan to offer tuition for the foreseeable future, I need to create conditions that are are conducive to tutoring long term.
Students have had a lot of success tutoring online for the past 3 years. All you need, at minimum, is a laptop with good internet connection. In my experience, students who try it out leave very happy with how much they learned over an hour. The “online” issue never gets brought up again.
